Why This Exists
If fellow animal lovers, nature lovers, and compassionate people actually knew the impact and ripple effect of their home design choices – they would change them. They would want something different. But there’s nothing out there that shines a light like that, and there’s no place that offers alternatives that address the actual harm being caused. Not one that focuses on individual animals, individual places, or the specific cause you care about most. Until now.
Your countertop choice affects elephants in Africa. Your floorplan layout affects the hummingbirds in your yard. Your flooring travels through ecosystems before it arrives at your door – and leaves a trail. These connections are real and most people building or renovating homes never see them.
Every project here is anchored in what we call a Cause as Concept. Instead of filtering every decision through an aesthetic concept, we filter it through a conservation cause. It might be a favorite animal, your local wildlife, ocean health, or the trees outside your window. That cause becomes the lens for every decision – materials, layout, systems, site. It makes the work specific, personal, and genuinely yours in a way no certification or checklist ever could. This becomes the story of your home. Your home stands for something powerful.

Who’s behind this
I’m Ash – home design/build consultant, conservation advocate, and the person who built the resource I desperately needed and couldn’t find. I live off-grid in the foothills of Olympic National Park, surrounded by the wildlife this work is for.
